Rawle Alkins seems to be the next star high school basketball prep star coming out of Brooklyn, NY and giving college coaches of elite programs a reason to come in to recruit New York City. The Christ the King HS (Middle Village NY) guard has all the mechanics needed to be the best guard coming out of the city since Lance Stephenson (whom he is compared too). He has power and strength, NYC toughness mixed with athleticism. He is a threat on both the offensive and defensive end of the floor.

I spoke with Alkins this past week and he let me know that he “wanted to improve on every aspect of his game this upcoming season” He also let me know that he is “focused on winning another championship for Christ the King”. He had a productive summer participating in every Adidas Tournament with his NY Rens AAU teammates as well as the Adidas Unrivaled camp early in July. The 6-foot-5, 210-pound guard is ready to begin welcoming some of the top names in the coaching business to see him workout this fall.

“As of right now Louisville head coach Rick Pitino is supposed to be showing up along with Kansas, NC State and Seton Hall too,” Alkins told HoopsIntel.com on what schools he expects visits from in the near future.

While his recruiting list is likely to get longer before it ever becomes shorter, Alkins was not ready to give any nod to particular schools as favorites or putting in the extra effort.

“I mean all the schools are really involved,” he said. “Kansas, Louisville, Villanova, Cincinnati, Indiana and NC State [are] all working hard”

If Alkins has any doubters out there he has one simple message for them: “Make them Believe.”

A quick view of his Courtside Films Sophomore year mixtape will certainly make a believe out of many!!
