2015 Mid Kansas Elite forward Dean Wade will also take his first official visit to Kansas State on August 29th, HoopsIntel.com’s National Recruiting Analyst Corey Evans has learned. The 6-foot-8 forward out of St. John, Kansas, which holds just 1,500 people, blew up in the latter half of July and put an exclamation point on his final season of AAU basketball with his performance in Vegas at the Bigfoot Tournament. In additional to Kansas State, Wade has narrowed his list to Wichita State, Creighton, Vanderbilt, Iowa and Oklahoma.
Here is the scouting report Corey Evans filed on Wade from his viewing in Las Vegas last month.
Dean Wade/6’8 Mid-Kansas Elite 2015
Quite possibly the biggest sleeper candidate of the 2014 summer period, Wade hasn’t even gotten his dues quite yet. The 6’8 forward has excellent ball skills on the perimeter off of the face-up where he can take his man off the bounce with either hand, uses his big time bounce to score over the traffic, and also passes it impressively well on the go. The big man’s motor never shuts off, he makes plays out of his area, and he has that intrigue that is hard to come by nowadays with the recruiting world so heightened. Wade does have to show that he has some sort of post-game on the block, yet his playmaking from 17-feet and in facing the rim is impressive and the Kansas native has a shot to be a highly traced, high-major guy in the coming months.
