Justin Robinson has become one of the most in-demand point guards in the Mid-Atlantic region this spring. As we move into the all-important summer travel season one can expect Robinson to see a lot of college coaches following his every move next month. Following a visit to Virginia Tech earlier this month, Robinson checked out the Maryland campus today with his family.
“The visit was good,” Robinson told HoopsIntel.com. “Me and my parents enjoyed it, we liked the whole setup of the visit and everything they showed us.”
The visit was a chance for Robinson and his family to get a chance to know the Maryland staff better and the time spent with Coach Turgeon and staff was very productive and the highlight of the trip.
“We just liked the time spent together with the coaching staff since that is our first time meeting them all,” said Robinson.
Robinson, a 6-foot-1 rising senior point guard from Manassas (VA), has helped Boo Williams qualify for the Peach Jam in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. According to HopsIntel.com’s National Recruiting Analyst Corey Evans, the lefty lead guard plays hard each and every possession on the floor and fails to display much of any major hole within his arsenal. He can shoot it, score it at the rack, pass it off the deck, and absolutely lock his man up on the perimeter. There isn’t any category that the Boo Williams ballplayer isn’t willing to buy into and the ego-less guard competes with a passion and purpose that many others fail to do. With offers in hand from the likes of Virginia Tech, Xavier, Providence, Illinois, Penn State, Maryland, Temple St. Joseph’s, Creighton, and many others, including the most recent, George Mason, Robinson is still open and keeping his recruitment close to the vest at this point.
“I don’t have a list or any favorites [at this time],” he said.
HoopsIntel.com will certainly keep an eye out for Justin Robinson in July and it will be very interesting to see what schools are most visible in their following of the Boo Williams’ guard. That will likely be a very real telltale sign of the direction his recruitment will follow into the fall. Check back often for updates as the July live period heats up after the 4th of July holiday.
